White Christmases!!

Hi everybody! I want to tell you all about my christmas! First of all I went out this morning and there was all this white stuff on the ground!  It tasted so good.

And then, after my morning rituals it was time to open prezzies!  Santa Paws came to my house!  I put my christmas collar on to get in the Christmas spirit.

It was bones! Yummy!  I wonder which one I will eat first?
What's that?  Time to open another present?  Oh yeah! I have two!

It was a bunny stuffie!  Yay! This Christmas stuff is totally the best! Thanks, Mom! Thanks, Santa Paws!

Santa Paws also got me this nice warm coat. Just in time..it's cold outside!

Well, that was my Christmas!  I hope everyone had as much fun as I did and I hope that you all stay warm and cozy!  Merry Christmas to all!

And to all a good night!

3. Put his sweater on over his harness...

4. Put his raincoat on over his sweater...

Prezzies for the cuzins!

Today mom, gran, and I went to my cousins' house and gave them their christmas prezzies!  We gave them each a cool leash with a seatbelt buckle on the handle end so that they can go on lotsa road trips and be safe.  We also gave them each a busy bone and a box of treats. I hope they like their prezzies! Merry Christmas guys!

More about christmas..

Hy everybody! In my last post i was telling you all about some of my christmas stuff....But I have a little bit more that I wanted to show you.

This is me sitting in front of the fire place.  Our stockings are all hung by the chimney with care.

I even have a stocking! Moms made it.  It looks like Santa Paws already left me something!

Here I am by our Christmas tree in my Christmas Bandana.  Our tree is up high on a bookcase.  But I can still enjoy its beauty (and hope that some of those balls fall off so I can eat them!).

Here is a better picture of our christmas tree and some of the presents under it.

These two are mine!  I'm so excited!  I'll have prezzies to open on Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everybody and I hope you get lots of prezzies from Santa Paws!

Ahhhhhh

Aaaahhh.  I am breathing a big sigh of relief for my moms.  She says that finals are over and now she can play with me more.  We've already had lots more fun.  She put a tree in the living room.  A tree! can you believe it? And then she hung a bunch of balls on it and lit it up with lights!  I wanted to eat it, but she put it up too high.  And then she put a bunch of shiny presents under it! She says that there are two under there for me! Two!  and she gave me a new toy tonight and told me it was an early christmas present since I've been so good during finals. What is this Christmas stuff?  This is my first one and I really like it!

We're still here!!

Hey everybody! I miss you all!  I had to hijack the computer from mom. She hasn't been blogging for me  lately because of something called finals.  So I'm just here...basking in the sun until finals are over and we can get back to more important things...like my blogging!

A trip to the vet spells relief

Arlo's mama here...   Thank you to everyone who offered Arlo and me advice and encouraging thoughts.  You don't know what it meant to us.  On to bigger and better things...

Worried Wednesday....Mama is worried.

Hi everyone, Arlo's mom here with some worries I have.  I'm a natural worrier anyway, so it doesn't take much.  I was just wondering...Arlo's hip joints have been kinda popping lately. I can feel them when he moves a certain way.  I just noticed it...and he's seven months old.  It doesn't seem to bother him at all, but it really really bothers me.  I'm scared it might be...and I hate to even say it... hip dysplasia.  Does anyone have any experience with popping hips or hip dysplasia?  I think I would feel better if I just had some advice.  Any advice would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This was my first thanksgiving and I wasn't sure what it was all about.  First, my mom made me take a bath and then I had to stay out of the kitchen all morning and no one would play with me!  The peoples were running around all crazy and I was beginning to wonder if they forgot about me!  But then we went to my granny's houe and I got to play with my mom's cousin's doggie and then we went to my aunt's house and I got to play with 2 pug sized peoples (a 3 year old and a 1 year old)! and then we went back home and there were lots of people there and everyone was sooo nice to me and I got to eat lots of treats!!  I like this Thanksgiving stuff.

Moms says it's a day to be thankful for all the blessings we have in our lives. My cousin luke is a rescue pug, and he told me all about how scared he was at some place called the pound.  He didn't where he was or how he got there.  He didn't have any toys or treats and he was all alone with only a cold floor to sleep on until some nice peoples rescued him. He has a lot to be thankful for now.  He has a mom and a dad and a little brother named Amos and he gets lots of love and treats and toys and he gets to cuddle in a big bed with his family.  He may have a lot to be thankful for, but I have a lot to be thankful for too. I am thankful that I have a mom that loves me. I am thankful that I have never known life without love.  I am thankful that I live in a warm house with lots of treats and stuffies and a big warm bed to sleep in, too.

I'm also thankful for all of my blogger friends and I hope everybody has as good of a Thanksgiving as I did!

A quick game..

Momzie's schoolwork is getting in the way of my blogging time again but we saw this blog game, and decided it was too good to pass up.

The rules: All you have to do is Google your first name with the word "needs" behind it and post the results.

Arlo needs a job. (I already gots a job...professional cheerer-upper!)

Arlo needs to get Janis difference books. (Moms says she guesses that Janis needs to learn some tolerance. I guess it's up to me to help her!)

Arlo needs your help!  (Yes, Help!  I can't open the cabinet where my treats are! )

Arlo needs to take the situation in hand. (Ok, I will try to get the treats myself.)

Arlo needs to hire you on his staff. (Yes! come work for me as my wait-staff! I will pay you in cuddles and kisses!)

Arlo needs a little publicity. (That' why I have a blog! Bol!)

Arlo needs to remember 1 thing…(That his mommy loves him!)

Tee-hee!  Have a great day everybody!

naughty naughty pug! Help!

Arlo's mom here...I need some advice. Do any of your pugs like to run away? I see all of these wonderful pictures of all of your adorable pugs playing and having fun off-leash! How can I get Arlo to do that? How do I get him to stay close to the house? How do I get him to come when called? Will he settle down when he gets older? Am I just being a worry pants? Any and all advice will be appreciated!

Well friends...It's been one week since the ole snippity-snip. And I'm glad to report that everything is pretty much back to normal. (Mom's note: Normal execpt it DID fix his "Loving" problem, Thank God!) Stitches are all healed up and I only have the tiniest scar that my moms thinks will go away. And since I am so good at healing, I'd like to send some healing vibes to my friend Lilo. Lilo, Feel better soon!

post-op adventures...

Moms and Gran and I went on an adventure this weekend. Moms wanted to go to Eureka Springs and Gran wanted to go see some family that lives in Arkansas so we loaded up in the car and drove and drove and drove. We saw lotsa relatives and ended up only driving through Eureka Springs but we did stop at a pretty overlook outside of town.

The river behind me is the White River. Moms says not to worry, we will definitely be going back because she loves that town and she says that they love dogs there too.

We also stopped at a playground where I got my swing on. Oh the things I do for my moms. You owe me moms....you owe me.

thankless thursday-satellite dog edition

Today is thankless thursday because I do NOT thank my moms for what she did to me this morning!! She dropped me off at the vets and when I woke up..some of my manly areas were gone! Nada. Nothin. No more change in my coin purse!

(mom's note: I elected to have this surgery for a number of reasons...1. he had an undecended testicle, 2. I'm not going to breed him, and 3. He's getting a little too feisty...not like a fighter, but definitely a lover. Too much loving if you know what I mean. I feel violated.)

Then, she stuck this stupid satellite thing on my head! Come on moms!!! How am I supposed to read my pee mail? Oh well. Don't worry friends...they did give me some good drugs. I think I'll go take a nap.

First day jitters!!

Hi everybody! Today was my first day of doggy day care! It was soo much fun! When we got there, Moms was nervous, I could tell, so I showed her how brave and tough I was and I barked at a fire hydrant. But then, I could hear and smell the other dogs and I was ready to go have fun! I made new friends and I smelled new smells and I ran and ran and ran! Then, when Moms came to pick me up, I slept the rest of the afternoon. Hey..I may be an energetic puppy, but I'm still a PUG puppy and we pugs love our sleep.

A lil puggy wisdom.

Arlo's mom here...
I've been trying to teach Arlo his puggy manners, some tricks, how to get along in a people's world, you know...standard dog stuff; but I was thinking today about all the things he's teaching me. Here is what I've dubbed "the Arlo way of life":

1. There are no strangers, only friends you haven't met.
2. Don't judge someone by what they look like on the outside.
3. Love with reckless abandon.
4. When people get mad at you, just act like you have no idea what mad is.
5. Sleep as often as you can.
6. If you like something, eat it. If not spit it out.
7. Dream big dreams.
8. Live completely in the moment.
9. Take time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
10. Loyalty is one of life's greatest virtues.

NOT wordless Wednesday!

I'm so excited I can't stop barking about it! I gots to go to dinner with the peoples and I actually gots to sit at the table! It was frickin sweet!

For some reason they wouldn't let me drive...I don't think my feets would reach the pedals anyway.

Nom nom nom...I'm actually noshing at the table like one of the peoples. And how's this for star treatment...they actually hand fed me from their plates. They are sooo wrapped around my little paw.
Waiter! I would like my own bowl of water please! (mom's note-we supplied the bowl.)

And then we went for a walk by the river! Oh that Riverwalk....so cool.
