Winston and the Wild Heart Ranch.

All this talk about recycled animals made me think of something my mom got to do.

A few weekends ago, my mom went to this place called Wild Heart Ranch.  They rescue and rehabilitate wild animals. Well wouldn't you know it...one of the rescued animals was this adorable little pug named Winston.

Winston, who is a recycled pug himself, gets to hang out with all of these awesome rescued or in the process of being rehabilitated wild animals!

Well, maybe not all of them, maybe just the ones who can't eat him, like this deer. He gets to help out with the baby animals that come there, too.  There was a fence that separated him from the area that the big guys  were in, like this bobcat. (who has to be in rescue because he was illegally declawed.)

And this Mountain lion.  This mountain lion's name is Kiara and she had a very sad life before she came to the ranch, but thanks to people like Annette, she can be happy again.

This horse's name is Trooper.  He had a sad life, too, until he came to the ranch. He made a miraculous recovery from animal abuse.

There are less sad stories at the ranch too.  My mom has to move on to those because her eyes are starting to leak.  One of the coolest things they do at the ranch is rehabilitate injured or orphaned animals.  Here's uncle Nick with a deer.

Here is a picture that my mom really likes.

there are some owls here that are on the mend.

They also have a nursury there for all the baby animals that come to the ranch,
Like this baby coyote.

And these baby racoons...

And even these baby skunks! Hopefully they'll all be returned back to the wild.

The folks at wild heart ranch might also be getting their own reality show on animal planet!  If they do it would be a really great thing because then they'll have more money to save even more animals!

Winston has the coolest job ever!

Flashback friday and Pearlie's quiz

First of all we (mom) want to say that we (mom) are sooo sorry that we (mom) have been off the radar lately. One of us...no names or fingers here (not me) was "sick" all week and couldn't blog. Yeah yeah. Excuses excuses. Bol. Moms are always needing something! hehehe.

We also want to say how awesome flashback Friday is! Here's my flashback photo!

I was only 3 months old! Just a young thing! Bol.
And now for Pearlie's quiz! What a great idea! This is going to be fun!
THE BASICS
1.) Name and Age: My name is Arlo, and I turned 1 on May 6.
2.) Breed: Pug
3.) Nickname(s): Honey, monkey, boo, booger, pickle.
4.) Where'd ya come from? I came from a breeder in Edmond. Naughty mommy answered a newspaper add, but she found me so I can't complain.
FAVORITES
1.) Toy: loofa dogs. I love those things!
2.) Snack: chicken. Momma says I'm a chicken dog.
3.) Human person: mom mostly, but sometimes granny.
FUNNY STUFF
1.) Worst habit: I am very guilty of jumping up on people. I just cant help myself. I also steal flip-flops and stuff out of the trash. Hehe...I am naughty.
2.) Most embarrassing moment: Usually I am good at the dog park, but when I was younger, I fell in "love" very easily with the other dogs. Mom had to come get me a few times, but I am lots better now.
3.) Family dynamic (this is a question for those of you with more than one animal in the house. i.e. who is alpha? who is the cuddler? who is the naughty one? etc. I just want to know how you fit into the family!) I am an only pug, but I totally adore my cousin amos. I do everything he does. He is my hero.
4.) Your humans' FAVORITE thing about you!: He makes me laugh! Everyday! Whether I want to or not! I love him!
With that, we hope everybody has a super great weekend!

My camping trip!

Memorial Day weekend, the family and I all went to the lake! Even my cousins came!

I supervised the packing.

Friday night, we stayed at my cousin's house! We played ball all night.

The big black and white guy is my cousin Amos, and the little guy that looks just like me except just a little darker colored is my cousin Luke.

For some reason everyone was laughing at how long my tongue is.

We left for the lake early Saturday. And I slept in this tent!

Mom also put up a pen for me and Luke.
That's me in the blue and luke in the black.

I also got to go swimming! I really liked swimming!
We swam in this pretty lake.

I got my life jacket on and I'm ready to go!

It was such a fun weekend! I got to play with my cousins and eat hot dogs! I hope we get to do this camping stuff a lot more often this year. I hope all of my friends had a fun long weekend.
