Worried Wednesday....Mama is worried.

Hi everyone, Arlo's mom here with some worries I have.  I'm a natural worrier anyway, so it doesn't take much.  I was just wondering...Arlo's hip joints have been kinda popping lately. I can feel them when he moves a certain way.  I just noticed it...and he's seven months old.  It doesn't seem to bother him at all, but it really really bothers me.  I'm scared it might be...and I hate to even say it... hip dysplasia.  Does anyone have any experience with popping hips or hip dysplasia?  I think I would feel better if I just had some advice.  Any advice would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Oh no...poor worried mom!
I'm sorry that we don't have much to offer in the way of advice....but I would check with your vet and not worry TOO much. I understand that if hip displaysa is found in puppies as young as Arlo...it can be corrected surgically fairly easily (this is what I HEAR anyway!)

Please keep us posted and give lots of kisses to Arlo!

Love,
Salinger's Mom (Laura)

Hi Arlo's Mom...Rosie the Party Pugs Mom here.

Our big dog has hip dysplasia. We found out when he was 6 months old and had popping hips. The surgery is quite expensive and doesn't ensure a good quality of life. We feed him a high quality dog food with glucosamine and also make sure he goes for a daily walk to strengthen his muscles. A trip to the vet is the best thing!

Hope it's not dysplasia. A trip to the vet would be your best bet.

Keep us posted.

Sometimes, my bones make funny noises, but its not a problem
My mom takes me to the vet for every little thing- because they know its best to catch stuff early.
Trust the vet- they are your friend.
